Old Time Cowgirl.....

SHE RODE BRONCS IN INDIANAPOLIS. Maude Tarr was a rough-and-ready rodeo cowgirl who specialized in saddle bronc riding and competed often against Fox Hastings, Dora Keen and Prairie Rose (Henderson). In the 1920's, Maude was married for a while to rodeo cowboy Tom Henderson. Later, in a strange arrangement, Maude would travel with Henderson and a bronc riding/bull dogging girlfriend named 'Prairie Rose.' Most authorities agree that the two never married, but that 'Prairie Rose' assumed Henderson's last name to promote the appearance of marriage and avoid controversy. All three rodeo contestants traveled together on the rodeo circuit from New Mexico, Colorado, Texas, Oklahoma & Kansas.
